When Jeremy Kipnis, the music engineer, producer and owner of a classical music label, set out to build a home theatre system, he would not only obtain a top of the line system, but he would also set the Guinness World record in 2009 and 2010 for the most expensive home theatre. Kipnis created this beautiful piece of art and fittingly named it the Kipnis Studio Standard (KSS). This $6 million incredible feat provides shear entertainment and joy to all those fortunate to be granted a viewing. The theatre is so massive at 2250 sq. feet and authentic to an actual commercial theatre that Kipnis has eliminated the need to ever go to the movies.
This unreal entertainment center can seat 10-30 people and it is often referred to as “the greatest show on earth”. It contains 8.8-12.12 channels of sound, at least 16 18-inch subwoofers, 96 speaker drivers, and a video resolution more than four times as powerful as a Full HD (1080P). And, Kipnis didn’t skimp in any area of this luxurious theatre. He installed the Sony SRX-RX110 Digital Cinema Projector to ensure the best image possible.
A lot of meticulous planning was involved in the creation of this magnificent home device. Kipnis figured out that all of the speakers had to be placed so that they were facing the center point of the room.
Seating was also taken into careful consideration; each seat had to be near the center of the theatre as well in order to provide for the perfect acoustic effect.
In order to ascertain the perfect deep bass response, Kipnis needed one or more subwoofer per channel.
Kipnis was not only concerned with the logistics of the actual sound and visuals, he also made sure the room was comfortable and aesthetically pleasing to its viewers.
